Cape Town. Such a distinctive city cannot be ignored. I am awed whenever I hear the name of this phenomenal city. Why? Cape Town is one of the most resourceful destinations in Africa. Cape Town’s wines, drinks, attractions, food, accommodation, natural assets can marvel any tourist for the rest of his stay. Although Cape Town is situated in the southernmost part of South Africa, the journey has never been an obstruction for tourists to be amazed. Come! Let’s grasp the reasons behind this sacrosanct impression.
Cape Town is the second largest city in South Africa after Johannesburg. Unlike Johannesburg, Cape Town has a political outlook as it hosts the Houses of Parliament and evidently is one of the capital cities in SA (Pretoria, Cape Town and Bloemfontein). We could say that South Africa’s first contact with the Europeans took place, right here in Cape Town! They all settled here, at Cape Town. Here is the inception of South Africa’s ethnic diversity. This historical location prods me to relate what you can entertain yourself with on a 14 day-trip. Go ahead and read on.
First of all, you have to know the best season for you to visit. According to Wikitravel, there are three periods of the year that turn a trip to Cape Town worthwhile.
1) March to May. This is the period where the weather temperature is cooler due to early rainfalls. The number of visitors decreases and so does the price for accommodation, food and tourism in general.
2) October to November. The weather is getting warm and the spring is surprisingly accompanied by windy months. Those winds are pretty much medicinal as they weather accelerates the dismissal of air pollution.
3) December to February. This is the period where summer commences and the hot sun stays late in the evening. The weather is pretty much reliable for a lot of activities to be embarked on.
